Inventory

Formal

Stocks held by a company in order that it can conduct business. Types of inventory include finished goods for sale, raw materials for manufacture, and work in progress for part finished goods.

Informal

Customers who want your products will no doubt have many other alternative sources of supply. Inventories are 'stock-in-trade' that is immediately available to satisfy these customers' requirements.
