Shark Causes Fatal Protection Error on Application Start up.

Problem Description

This is generally caused by the Anti Virus program running on the users machine (usually Sophos). The problem is caused because some anti virus programs require the code of an application to be examined during run time to ensure that it does not match any common virus signatures. Some of the Shark code segments are encrypted and therefore cannot be read during the application start up. This causes Shark to produce a fatal exception error as it is not allowed to run.

Solution

This problem has been corrected in version 3.2 of Shark. Simply contact Shark support for upgrade options.

What is the license management screen?

The license management screen is displayed when you load Shark. The screen is used to activate your Shark license. Click here to view a screen shot of the license management screen

How do I load the license management screen?

Toggle the 'Scroll Lock' button (on your keyboard) to ON and load Shark

How do I activate my Software?

Simply select the 'Activate' button on the license management screen. This will direct you to the Shark activation page. Fill in the online form and select submit at the bottom of the page. As soon as your order has been confirmed you will receive an activation e-mail from us with your activation code. Simply copy and paste the code into the license management screen and your software will be activated.

How do I transfer my license?

On the license management screen select the radio button 'remove license'. Follow the onscreen instructions and make a note of the removal code. Go to the activation page on the Shark Finesse website:

Fill out the online form including the removal code.

Install and activate the software on the machine you wish to transfer the license to.
